Spring Season FAQs

By Bedford Cannons, 01/07/19, 10:30AM EST

Hello Cannons Families!

We are only a few days away from the start of our indoor skills sessions. Please see below for some important Q&A:

But I haven't registered yet!

You should probably do that right away. Go here to get started.

What are these indoor sessions?

Our optional indoor skills sessions are a GREAT way to knock off the rust and get ready for the spring outdoor season. The sessions are held at the NH Sportsplex from 6-7pm on specific Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting January 7th. Please visit THIS PAGE for dates and times. While these sessions are optional, we find that attending these sessions better prepares athletes for evaluations and gets them back into 'lacrosse mode'.

Please note that these sessions are only for athletes in grades 1 and up who are registered for the Rec/Travel option. Little Laxers do not have indoor skills and will begin when the fields are open in the spring.

If I played last year, should I wear the Cannons pinnie I already have?

That's EXACTLY what you should do! We'll have pinnies for new players, but returning players should wear the Cannons pinnie they already have.

What are these evaluations you speak of?

For grades 1 and 2, we offer both Rec and Travel. For Grades 3 and up, everyone plays travel, but players are broken out into different teams. Our evaluations allow us to place your athlete in a position where they can get better, have fun, and be successful.  Click here for full details.

Athletes should make every attempt to attend BOTH evaluation sessions. For athletes looking to fine-tune their skills or break in a new stick or other equipment, the indoor skill sessions PRIOR TO evaluations are the perfect time to do that. Athletes should arrive at evals ready to go!

What do we need for gear?

We got this question a lot over the last month, so we created this page to help answer it.

When does the outdoor season start?

Technically early April, but we're often at the mercy of mother nature, the field conditions, and the town, who releases the fields for us to use. We have time booked at the Sportsplex until April 10th. We'll pivot to outdoor team practices as soon as we can.

But I have other questions!

It's OK, we have someone who has all the answers. You can reach him at

Go Cannons, and we'll see everyone next week!
