Bedford Youth Lacrosse Game Summaries

Girls U13A

The U13A Girls Team suffered their first setback of the season in a 10-5 loss at the hands of always strong Seacoast. Bedford trailed the entire game but displayed great fortitude in battling the entire contest. Jess Cloutier was again the backbone of the team defense and put in another solid effort between the pipes. Goals were scored by Sam Hornsby, Lauren May, Kayleigh Moquin and Kennedy Boyle. Emma Bizik, Rachel Larivee and Carly Caveny put in strong efforts.

Boys U11 Red

Bedford U-11 Red dominated quick, played a good portion of the game off-handed, switched up the defense and attack, and beat Timberlane 10-2. Goals were scored by; Gavin shilling, Ryan Bleakley, Reid Kirkpatrick, Stephen Simpson, Roland Bryan, Devin LaFrance, and Michael Etzo. Joe McHugh won multiple face offs in a row keeping the offense dominating while Danny Mundis had a phenomenal game in goal. Danny saved many 1 on 1 opportunities keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. All in all Bedford stayed strong and played a solid game of lacrosse with many team members attributing to their success.

Boys U13B

The Boys U13B team travelled to Plymouth, battling to a tie in regulation play, losing 9-8 in double overtime. A valiant effort was made by all. Good defense from Ray Etzo, Sean Tierney and Cormac McCarthy kept the game closely contested throughout. Tucker Lavigne, Logan Major and John Valvo helpt to control the midfield. Nate John remained strong in net throughout. Scoring was led by Tucker Levigne and Colin Hendrickson. Cole Johanson and Justin Wiggin also netted goals.

Boys U15A

Bedford Boys 15A faced Seacoast on Sunday, May 16th. With 2 seconds left in regulation play, Bedford’s Pat Simpson scored the tying goal on a pass from Alex Astarita to force the game into overtime. Bedford eventually lost in double overtime, 6 -5. Bedford goalie Matt Howe had an outstanding game in net, turning away 21 shots.

Boys U15B

The Bedford Boys U15B team came away with two victories this weekend. On Saturday the team traveled to Bow to take a 12-0 victory. Scoring for Bedford were Tyler Sullivan (4 goals), Justin Irvine (3 goals), Nate Jaeger, Ross Burton, Mike Dee, Nate Boyd and Duncan Kirkpatrick.

Sunday saw the team travel to Weare to face John Stark United. Bedford held the opponent in check most of the game, coming away with a 12-3 win. Scoring for Bedford were Tyler Sullivan (3 goals), Matt Tetu (3 goals), Mike Dee (2 goals), Andrew Butler, Will Soghikian, Jake Laughlin and Tom O’Rourke. Dylan Mundis put forth an excellent showing in goal for the Cannons in both games this weekend.

Boys Rec

Team 5 came up short this week losing 10-6 to team 7 in a tough hard fought game. Ben Steeves led the scoring attack with 5 goals and Andrew Twite also added a goal. The offense was supported with strong midfield play by Ryan Bobotas who had two really good scoring chances himself plus added two assists. Will Detscher was also strong in his offensive support at middie with some crisp passing and Jared Bassingwaigthe added a shot on goal to aid the attack. On the defensive side fo the ball, Andrew Twite made some outstanding saves in net in the first half with solid support by both Jared Neikam and Zach Kearns.

Cannons In the News

Bedford Youth Lacrosse would like to congratulate the following players for making the rosters on the U-13 and U-15 Fall NH Tomahawks select team. These teams will be playing in several tournaments throughout the fall. The first tournament, the Blazer’s Cup was played the weekend of October 24th where the U-15 team placed first and the U-13 team placed second. Future tournaments will be held at Bryant College in Rhode Island and the Bulldog Classic in New Haven, Ct at Yale University.
