As of Spring 2010 ALL head coaches in NHYLA must be on-line certified. BYLA will reimburse you for expenses incurred for this course once you have passed. Note: you must be a member of US Lacrosse before you can take this

US Lacrosse Level 1 Online Courses

The Level 1 Online Courses are the first step in your journey into the Coaches’ Education Program. It is the intent of the curriculum that you complete the online course, then round out your experience with a Level 1 Instructional Clinic, which provides the hands-on, in-person interaction based on the knowledge you receive from the course.

Course Fees

The US Lacrosse Coaches Education Program: Level One Online Course is available only to US Lacrosse Members. For any coach-category or cross-participant member, the cost per course is $25. For all other member categories, the fee is $45. You will have access to the course for 60 days and unlimited login access to the reference section.

Course Objectives

The coach will be able to:

• Build a positive coaching philosophy
• Communicate effectively with players
• Understand basic player safety and risk management responsibilities
• Utilize strategies for teaching skills and tactics for youth and/or beginning players

Plan for an effective/age-appropriate practice and season

Notes/Information About the Online Course

• The Level 1 Online Course contains photos, diagrams and flash movies to help visually enhance the learning experience.
• The course will generally take about two hours to complete and can be done in more than one sitting. You have 60 days access to the course upon first log-in to the course.
• You also receive UNLIMITED, lifetime access to the course reference section, an ever-growing bank of drills, reference material, and information that is continually being improved and added to by the CEP writing staff.
• A post-assessment quiz is offered to test the knowledge gained from the course. When you complete the quiz, you will be enabled to print a certificate of completion in your name.
• Only by completing the quiz will you be eligible for the discounted registration for the Level 1 Instructional Clinics.
